Paris - China Club question and misc.

We're off to Paris next week and thanks largely to this board, I have more eating ideas than I know what to do with. By way of background to my question, we are having lunch at Jamin on our first day in town. That evening, we are going to see a jazz trio at China Club in the 12th. As we will have eaten very well for lunch, I am not looking for anything terribly special or substantial for dinner. The jazz starts around 10pm so I was considering getting something to eat at the Club, though it is not a place I would otherwise seek out for food.

Do the Paris hounds have any thoughts? Also, it will be a Friday evening. Are reservations essential? Is it possible and/or recommended to eat at the bar? Anything else in the neighborhood that might be better? We're having dinner at Violon d'Ingres the next evening so I'd like to avoid anything too expensive.

A bonus question: we're going to the opera on Sunday afternoon at the Theatre des Champs-Elysees. Any thoughts for a place to stop for a bite (not a full meal) in late afternoon in that neighborhood?

Thanks for any thoughts or advice.
