Just a quick fly-by review. I had lunch there yesterday for the first time because my kid heard from kids at school that the place was really good. Okay, why not? Mixed results. The room is very nice but the tables are spaced so close together that if they were all filled the room might be unacceptably loud. No problem, there were no more than 4 tables in use at weekday lunch. Two waiters covered both inside and outside and were not overwhelmed. One, however, was not all that with it. She attempted to serve the main course while there were still used plates on the table. Fortunately, I didn't mind helping her clear the table.
We ordered a mushroom pizza to share as an app. You can see the wood-fired oven behind the bar. I don't know how much the wood-firing added, but the pizza was rather good. Very thin crust, good amount of mushrooms and taleggio. High point of the meal.
The kid ordered pappardelle bolognese and was over the moon. The pappardelle was fresh, possibly house-made, and properly cooked. The sauce was missing something I can't quite put my finger on. It was good enough, but not quite there.
The Spouse and I shared another order of the pappardelle. The waiter was quick to remind us that it was a lunch-sized order. Yes, we knew, so we also ordered a large Caesar salad. Sadly, that was a joke. I actually counted. For $9.50 we got 6 leaves of Romaine lettuce and 6 croutons. There were a few shavings of Parmesan, too. And a pet peeve of mine is any salad I have to take a knife to. I really hate Caesars that are presented as whole leaves.
Lunch for 3 - 2 water, 1 tea - ran about $45 before tip. I understand their brunch is supposed to be good, but as I am not a brunch person, I can't comment.
