Panibois Wooden Baking Mold

Flexitarian | Mar 23, 201404:03 PM

Does anyone know if any retailer sells Panibois wooden baking molds in the GTA? Golda's Kitchen (the go to source for baking needs) does not. I know they can be purchased online from the US from Technobake, (they ship only Fedex or UPS Ground so horrendous brokerage fees), or Bakedeco, (they'll do US Post so only $10 Canada Post brokerage fee + HST on goods).

For anyone who is wondering about these they are baking molds made of natural poplar veneer 'using sophisticated gluing technology which make them heat resistant'. So, you can proof your dough in the basket and then slide it right into the oven to bake which you cannot to with a conventional banneton or proofing basket. They are made by a company in France that developed them in the early 90's. They are many different designs and they add a nice touch to breads, cakes, pastires and pies that you are giving as a gift. They are not expensive. Low quantities cost about $2 down to about 75 cents if you buy 100. On top of all that they are 100% biodegradable.

Some higher end bakeries use these disposable molds for their baked goods. They'll even add a logo to it for an extra charge.
