Paging Allende: Alta Badia in Winter

Losmith | Feb 16, 201811:37 AM     8

Hi Allende! I've enjoyed your reports on destinations throughout Italy for years now and have found the reports on San Cassiano and Alta Badia especially helpful. My husband and I stayed in San Cassiano in September a few years ago on the strength of your endorsement and loved it. So thank you! We are returning in December and January of this year, and my question is this: Is there anything you'd do differently in winter versus summer? Would you still adamantly recommend San Cassiano vs. Corvara, La Villa, etc.? Any point to breaking the trip up in staying in Ortisei for part of it? We will be skiing. I'd be grateful for recommended alternatives to Rosa Alpina and Lagacio (which we love, but are $$$$$$ rate-wise) for places to stay (particularly private apartments or homes). Thanks very much for continuing to share your most-informed viewpoint on the area!
