Just moved to the city a month ago and don't quite have the lay of the land yet. I have some friends visiting, so I'm looking for 4 dinners. I've been researching, but unlike my previous homes, Manhattan simply has too many great restaurants to find any kind of consensus and I'm having a tough time.
We're all adventurous, and any type of cuisine is acceptable--Italian, French, and seafood options would especially be nice. We tend to like more creative pairings and aggressive flavors, though subtle and classic is also great as long as it's done well.
One meal will be an early Thanksgiving celebration and can be more pricey (~$120pp), and the rest I'd prefer to keep a bit more reasonable (~$60pp not including drinks). Anywhere in Manhattan works.
One issue is that I've tried making reservations at some of the staples (Babbo, Lupa, EMP, Le Bernardin), and they're all pretty much booked.
PS-as a fellow CH-er, I recognize how annoying such vague posts are, but I appreciate the help!
