Ortobello- A Must Visit in Bensonhurst

I can not say enough about this restaurant. It is run by a family and everything is served in large portion family style. The food is southern yet inventive and soulful, lovingly prepared made by scratch. No corners cut here, this place is truly wonderful. It's everything you wish Two Toms would be. I had a whole octopus over a rich tomato sauce on pasta on sat. The octopus was a revelation, tender melt in your mouth like butter- Batali eat your heart out. This is a must visit place for wonderful soulful Italian food made the old fashioned way.

Ortobello only serves house wine which is homeade and kind of fitting. 10 bucks for a large carafe.
