Origins of Beriani Dajaj & similar dishes (Dishdash Sunnyvale, CA)

blu_in_green | Oct 13, 202001:10 PM     4

On of my all time favourite dishes in the world is Beriani Dajaj from Dishdash restaurant in Sunnyvale, California. I used to visit regularly before COVID prevented my travel to the USA.

Dreaming about this dish today while reading Jerusalem by Yotam Ottolenghi got me thinking that I have no clue what the country origins are for this dish and whether there were any similar recipes I could find.

Yes, there is grilled chicken marinade, nuts, raisins, and saffron rice, but the pale sweet yogurt saucy stew is the real start of the show.

I've tried googling for ideas, but nothing is coming up.

Any ideas where I can find something to satisfy my craving until I can get back to Dishdash?

Book Club met at a Middle Eastern restaurant called Dish Dash to discuss The Alchemist. I think everyone enjoyed the food. The book did not fare so...
