Origin of the term California Burrito

After reading these two blog posts:

I am curious if anyone knows origin of the term California burrito. I have only seen it used to refer to a burrito you get in SD with french fries and cheese stuffed inside.

I have never heard anyone call the burritos you get in SF (the ones stuffed with bland ingredients) anything but mission burritos or sf burritos, but this blogger seems to think otherwise.

Anyone else have any insight on this issue?

BTW he also claims mission burritos are the best, pretty silly.
