Omakase in NYC (+/- $100 pp)

willscarlett | Apr 30, 201510:28 AM

Was wondering what some good omakase meals are in NYC for around $100 per person, give or take. I've looked around at a few, but not everywhere lists the price. Partially based on past CH recommendations, here's what I've been looking at:

Sushi Seki
Sushi of Gari
15 East
Kanoyama
Shimizu
Jewel Bako
Sushi Azabu
Blue Ribbon Izakaya (I've heard this place is loud)
Sushi Yasuda
Neta

I have had omakase before, at Soto and Sushi Nakazawa and I much preferred Soto. Soto's omakase was a mixed combination of raw fish and his creative dishes, while Nakazawa was just raw fish, topped off with his egg custard. I certainly didn't mind that the meal at Nakazawa was raw fish only, but the fish served didn't have the same fresh zing that the fish at Soto did. Maybe it was an off night for them.
