perhaps a wayward rhode islander will catch the cheap foodish play on words that header references....in any case, though i've always thought of myself as a relatively adventurous eater, for the most part i don't generally eat organ meats. (though i do have a thing for sweetbreads....) i've been thinking of trying to remedy this, and i've culled a few intestinal references (mainly from posts about chinatown, though i'm also eyeballing the mondongo served sundays at tacos lupita) on this board . what i'm wondering is: do any of the chowhound carnivores here have any particular local restaurant faves when it comes to these much maligned cuts of meat? if you were going to do an "organ meat crawl", where would you go? i know at the fancier places these kind of things tend to come and go (i.e. evoo had a calve's brains app as a special the other night, but i didn't get it in my tasting menu picks from the chef) but are there any that are permanent or are on winter menus around town that are especially tempting?
any input at all greatly appreciated. and much thanks yet again for the treasure trove that this board represents--i tested out qingdao garden and wu chon house thanks to the posts here, and had a good eatin' weekend because of it. and heck, after reading the galleygirl peach farm banquet recap, i think now i know where i want to have my birthday dinner this year. ;)
