Norman's rocks!

Adsvino | Dec 12, 2005 06:30 PM

Just wanted to send a word to those who might be thinking of trying Norman's on Sunset. I ate there on Friday (Caja China Pig Night) and it was incredible. 4 wine biz buddies and I sat in the kitchen and enjoyed everything we tried. The courses were:

Amuse of crispy yuca stuffed shrimp - giant and fantastic

Brazilian conch chowder - Insanely rich and perfect

Foie with french toast and roasted pineapple - awesome

Nest of potato and soft boiled eg with caviar over tuna tartare - yum

Pig with coleslaw and mashed sweets - to die for
Sides of crackly skin

American Artisalal cheeses
A bunch of desserts - Banana split and chocolate parcel

Probably a few more I can't remember....One of the best meals I've had in LA. PERFECT service, and Normans sports the best sommelier in LA (Peter Birmingham). Chowpatty was dining there that night and you can see her review on her blog Eating LA. Sorry, I don't know the cost of our meal but it was worth every penny you could spend. Pig plate is $19.
