I just got back from a wonderful meal at Nook Bistro, and wanted to share it with everyone.
My wife and I got there, and it turned out it'd be about a 20 minute wait for table, or we could be seated at the counter/bar immediately. To start, we shared the crispy calamari w/ the wasabi aioli. It had a light crispy coating, and the aioli was nice. I had the burger, which was pretty spectacular. On really crunchy bread, a juicy medium rare burger.. My one complaint was that the french fries were pretty limp, I would have liked them to be nice and crispy. My wife had the asparagus small plate, with the pancetta and the poached egg, as well as the mac & cheese side dish (which she in a hyperbolic moment said "is the best thing i've ever eaten"). Dessert was the 'brownie cup' which was a moist brownie/cake with a scoop of ice cream, it was excellent. The ice cream was in a little steel cup, there really wasn't enough to go with the sizeable cake. The service was top notch, the owner was very friendly and chatted with us for a little while. The bill was very reasonable, under $50 including a couple iced teas, coffee and tax. The food was very solid, well executed and comforting. It'll definitely be a regular spot for us.
