Previous mention had been made of the "secret" shopping center behind the Tip Top Sandwich location that just opened up immediately east of the 888 Seafood shopping center on Valley Bl. The shopping center is built such that only Tip Top has any frontage on Valley Bl., so the other stores are not visible as you drive by The only other restaurant in what is called New Valley Plaza (isn't there already a New Valley shopping center at the corner of New and Valley?) is a place in back called Noodle Boy. It's a Hong Kong style noodle restaurant with a very simple menu of soup noodles or pan fried noodles with your choice of toppings. Actually, this place might make sense. There aren't that many SGV noodle restaurants with an open kitchen, and they put out a pretty good product. I had the fish ball noodle soup which had crunchy egg noodles, nice broth, and most impressive, the "fish balls" weren't the stuff you get in the stores, but a large and delicious glob shaped like inari sushi. Definitely a thumbs up.
Making less sense is the Farm Fresh Produce Market, a couple of stores towards the front. There's no apparent connection to the departed and much missed Hollywood market of the same name. There's also no apparent reason for opening this place up. The size and selection is smaller than the nearby San Gabriel Superstore, and the prices didn't appear particularly special either.
Street address for New Valley Plaza is 8518 E. Valley Blvd.
