Wondering when that Indian restaurant would finally close (never saw any customers in there), I was happy to see that a new restaurant would take its place.

Last week, my husband and I went to try it out. We were both excited about the much needed new cuisine (New Orleans - Cajun/Creole) to arrive in the Slope. We get there and it's a full house (good sign!). We waited about 5-10mins for a table. Here is what we ordered and my review:

Alligator and Andouille Sausage - Too fatty for my taste.
Jambalaya Wontons - VERY spicy and tasty but reminded me of really good frozen burrito.

Crawfish Etouffee - I had a taste but the temperature of the food was off. It wasn't hot enough. The right temperature makes such a difference for me. Perhaps it would've tasted better if it were hotter?
Fried Chicken - Loved the crunch and the quantity (four pcs) but in taste, it was just fair.

Banana Foster - I had read about this and had high expectations... Thank goodness we shared this dessert! It was four huge pieces of banana, swimming in a pile of...sauce... I wasn't impressed.

As for the service, it was quite good. The servers all worked together (they share their tips) to cover each other. I thought that was a good system for a new restaurant.

My overall experience was disappointedly just a fair one. I will probably give it one more try but that's it.
