Finally got there for lunch last week. Have to say it's pretty terrific. I used to live at the beach, and the general rule was--locals went to restaurants landside......restaurants on the water were for tourists and when you had company. Not any more. The setting is, of course, extraordinary. And they did a very nice job with decor. The food is excellent. There were two of us; we shared three things. A salmon sashimi. A king crab salad. And the miso black cod. All were wonderful. My one complaint was that the crab salad....at $38....had four (count 'em four) pieces of crab. And not very big pieces. Though the crab was fresh and delicious. I mean....it's an expensive restaurant. And I don't think you go there expecting anything but a hefty tab. Struck me as well worth it...and I can't wait to go back and try many other things on the menu. Also found service to be attentive, and very pleasant. A friend who lives out there asked if they'd been "snotty". I didn't find that at all. When I called to make a one o'clock reservation.....I was told the table was booked for 2:30....so we would have to be prepared to vacate by then. I said "fine". We ate our food....drank some champagne....and they didn't rush the check. We paid it quickly.....looked at our watches....and it was after 3. The place was packed....but noone rushed us. They serve the full menu at the bar....which is first come/first served. That's next......
