one night in bangkok

Where should we splurge on our one night passing through Bangkok? Since we'll be spending the rest of our trip in the boonies of Lao or China, it would be nice to enjoy an upscale setting while in BKK, but only if the food is worth it.

I've eaten at Spice Market before and some place in the Dusit Thani hotel, I think. From reading the guides: recommendations for the Oriental strike me as suspect because they focus most on the setting and the quantity of food, rather than quality. Lemongrass sounds good but "westernized" and I wonder if the advice is stale. I've heard really good things about Buccarasam (sp?) and a place nearby called something like Ban Chiang (I am messing that one up big time). Know anything about these? Thanks.
