Made a reservation for dinner with in-laws (4 people) at Playground. While I think the menu will be a hit I am worried that the style of service will not be appreciated as they tend to like classic fine dining. Things like not offering milk for coffee would not be appreciated. Also, we do not want to sit in a high table so we may need to cancel if they cant reserve a lower table for us (haven't checked yet).
Can anyone suggest a nearby alternative with creative food? We need to be back in Fullerton around 730 so the timing will not work for Taco Maria since we are usually dining for at least 2 hours and they don't open until 530. OK with making a 5pm reservation to be able to take our time.
Ultimately, if Playground does not float our collective boat, and there not somewhere that is similarly creative, what would be a place that is close, good and is more like traditional fine dining? Should I go with Summit House, The Cellar or The Ranch? Shanghailander Palace?
