Nha Trang on Argyle

Does anyone know the fate or current whereabouts of the couple who ran Nha Trang on Argyle next to Benny's Grill? It disappeared this winter and reopened as Tank Noodle and the Tank Noodle folks couldn't tell me anything.

The Nha Trang couple were absolutely lovely and did classic, honest, unfancy storefront cooking of the type that makes a place like that become your second home. Eggrolls crisp, never greasy. A "spicy lemon" treatment of chicken, shrimp, pork or beef that I adored.

After we adopted our son 2 years ago, we would bring him in and they would fuss over him and make him little treats. When I went in on my own once for take- out because wife and child had the flu, the lady made special soup for us and said it would make them better. As far as I can tell, it did.

Once there was a screw up with American Express that made the owners fear that we had been double charged and might blame them. The lady showed up at our door (we live just down the street) to explain to my wife that they would never, never do that and in the end we were able to help them out with Amex.

When my parents came to visit from NY, we brought them in and from that time on they asked after my folks every time I went in.

Anyway, they just vanished overnight last November or December. I noticed that there is a restaurant also called Nha Trang on Clark somewhere between Bryn Mawr and Devon I think, but I've never been able to determine a link.

Anyone have any clues?
