Dear Twin Cities 'hounds,
I'm bouncing about the idea of organizing a chowdown at Qoraxlow in Minneapolis. http://www.chowhound.com/topics/504043 I'm still trying to nail down a date, but, if you're interested, please drop me a note by email (my address is in my profile) and I'll give you a heads up once I have a more solid plan. Those who have never attended a "chowdown" are as welcome as those who have attended many.
As with chowdowns I've organized in the past, I ask that everyone plan to order family style and share entrees so that we can all taste a wide variety of dishes. Also, I request that everyone plan to please cover his or her own drinks (actually, I don't know if they have a liquor license--I'm guessing not--so it may be a moot point) and bring cash (ideally, in small bills--it's extra challenging when everyone shows up with twenties), as well as a sense of humor and adventure.
Here's a link to the chowhound etiquette regarding chowdowns, for anyone who is interested. http://www.chowhound.com/topics/36760...
If you have eaten at this restaurant before or are familiar with Somali cuisine and know of some dishes you recommend we try, please post in this thread! If you have any recommendations for etiquette we need to observe in the restaurant, particularly for women, please mention that in your email to me (not in this thread).
(P.S. Please be patient. I don't check my email as obsessively as I check Chowhound. ;-) ).
