Until last weekend, I had a very specific ranking of my favorite pizzas in Mpls:
3. Red Savoy
That was until we ate at Cafe Bicko. Cafe Bicko is located at 44th and France Ave in Edina. It's a dive bar setting located in a strip mall next to a Great Clips. It's more a bar than it is a restaurant. They have brick oven pizza you can order in Deep Dish, Flat or Hand Tossed.
We ordered a medium Deep Dish pepperoni....it was absolutely outstanding. It's served Chicago-style with the tomatoes/sauce on top of the cheese. The crust is crisp and buttery on the outside and perfectly doughy on the inside. We just couldn't get over how good the sauce was. We went to get a quick bite to eat and left completely shocked at how good it was. Before we rank it next to Cossettas, we're going to give it another visit to ensure it wasn't a one-stop wonder.
Anyone else had pizza @ Cafe Bicko?
Additionally, anyone else have any hidden gems for pizza in the twin cities?
