Saw this South End (1401 Washington St) storefront recommended in a thread about fish and chips a couple of weeks back and took advantage of a doctor's appointment in the area today to stop in for lunch. Wanted basic so just went for the haddock. Basic, but soooo good. Nice light batter, but more importantly the fish was impeccably fresh, sweet and juicy. That last one - juicy - is the one that a lot of places get wrong. They keep it stored properly enough to keep it from going off but there's no fresh juiciness spurting out with the first flaky bite the way there was here at Morse. GREAT cheap inside the city place to get a clamshack sort of fried seafood fix, with more variety than most clamshacks. Complete with malt vinegar for the fries. And a huge serving. 3 nice pieces of haddock to the lunch special. Wish I lived closer to take regular advantage of their fish market as well.
Anyway, heartfelt thanks to the people who mentioned and suggested it.
