Last month I dropped in for a quick dinner at Momo Grill when I noticed the "Indian and Nepali cuisine" banner on Stony Point Road. Open for a month at that point, the owner/manager told me that the chef previously worked for Amber India and Sakoon, that I know as two of the top South Asian restaurants in Silicon Valley. The menu includes chaat and some regional specialties not seen on other Indian menus around here.
I started with Chicken 65, $6.95, from the appetizer menu. It was rather underseasoned. But perhaps my fault for asking for dark meat that might not have been marinated as long. The wilted lettuce garnishing the plate did not make it taste any better.
Then the signature Nepalese momos, made here with ground chicken, $9.95. These were mildly seasoned as well, and the dipping sauce was not as concentrated with sesame and tomato as other versions.
Not bad, but not a place that I'll rush back to. Yet, I want to support a spot that is bringing different dishes to the area so I will return at some point to try more.
