Mohonk Mountain House -- has the food improved at all?

Simon Gruber | Feb 18, 2003 10:28 AM

I've been to the Mohonk Mountain House several times for meetings and day trips, and once overnight, and generally agree with the past comments of other Hounds: it's a unique, beautiful place to visit (for those who can afford it), but the food very often leaves much to be desired. Our one overnight, perhaps 9-10 years ago, included my then-partner's dinner entree getting totally messed up (wrong dish? or somehow just bad) and the requested replacement taking at least 1/2 hour to arrive... However, several years ago, a lunch served (to attendees at a conference) was pretty good -- lots of fresh vegetables that were not overcooked, and overall decent quality.

A friend is considering bringing a group there. I'm wondering if things have changed at all. Any advice or experiences to report? Thanks.
