Mijita in Ferry Building

cschiff | May 7, 2005 08:40 PM

Just had the most dispointing lunch at Mijita. I love a good taco de pescado (fish taco) - great ones are to be found all over. The ones at Tacubaya in Berekely are fab.

The ones at Mijita were BLAND beyond comparison. Mushy, tastless fish. Soggy tortilla. The sauce was a bland mayonaise that could have been straight out of a jar. Three little shreds of cilantro. A few sad shards of cabbage. $4.75 each.

Much sadness. Despite the onslaught of tourist season, I had thought the yummies at the Ferry Building were usually a good bet.

We mentioned the blandness factor to the manager. He said he would mention it to Tracy, the owner. Turns out, as many of you know, that Tracy of Jardinere fame owns this place.

She needs to re-think her cooking staff and perhaps her ingredients....
