I went to Michael's Genuine not expecting greatness, but I have to say, I was pretty blown away. The ceviche with avocado was some of the best Icevucge I've had in recent years. The panzanella was perfect, with big chunks of perfectly ripe tomatoes and really tiny, tiny cherry tomatoes, and hearty crusty bread. The butter lettuce salad with hazelnuts and oranges was delicious. My roasted pompano with grilled onions and roasted whole lemon (which you could eat in chunks) was also spectacular, and my dinner companion's pork shoulder melted in your mouth (although I have to say, the portion was way too large!)

For dessert I wanted something light so I got lemon sorbet, which came with bitter chocolate cookies that were spicy and very dry - but in a really good way. They were not on my diet plan but I ate them anyway :) My friend got a chocolate cremolata which was interesting - sort of a football-shaped chocolate thing that looked like ice cream but was way thicker and not that cold. I have no idea how they made it.

All in all, I thought it was a pretty perfect meal.
