Mexican Wedding Cakes in North OC?

kiwi | Oct 30, 2005 01:50 AM

Hi all,

I have a major craving for Mexican Wedding Cakes. I was lucky enough to find them at the Whole Foods in Tustin recently, but that's too far right now. I realized that, maybe, just maybe, you all might know of a bakery in North Orange County that makes them fresh.

Honestly, I don't have any idea if they are even remotely Mexican, nor if they have anything to do with weddings. I DO know that they are cookies, not cakes.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll do my best to describe them. They are basically cookies made with tons of finely chopped almonds, butter, and sugar. They dough is refrigerated. You make 'em into balls, bake 'em, and roll 'em in powdered sugar. They are really rich and bad for you. Awesome!

I don't want to make them myself, so if you know where I might by them, I would greatly appreciate the info!

Thanks in advance!
