Memphis Taproom, Local 44 Raided by the PLCB gestapo

Hey folks,

Not sure if you've read the press but Foobooz is reporting that

http://foobooz.com/2010/03/unregister...
"Last night the three bars of Brendan Hartranft and Leigh Maida (Local 44, Memphis Taprom and Resurrection Ale House) were raided for selling unregistered beers"

By unregistered beers they don't mean something illegal or harmful, they mean any number of craft beers by local, national and international breweries which are sold across the city.

I've never been a supporter of the PLCB but this is just going way too far. If they want to maintain prohibition era stuffiness then fine, but damaging the businesses of people who bring us craft beers and a home away from home is despicable.

I for one will be patronising the Memphis Taproom this weekend to show my support, it would be very cool if Chowhounders across Philly could visit whichever of Hartranft and Maida's bars is closest to them. I don't know them, I have no relation to the bars at all, but I do love beer, and do now hate the PCLB.
