EL IDOLO II is this big silver construction site type taco truck that has been setting up shop lately on thursday night thru sunday afternoon at the sw corner of 14th street and 8th avenue. they are taking on the late-night weekend meatpacking crowd with some success, but the more discriminating sunday morning mostly hispanic st. bernard's church crowd with less success. why? because the food at the stands in front of the church on sunday morning is better.
so i have tried the EIII truck out a few times and not really liked anything. i had the usual tacos pastor, chivo once and a pollo torta sandwich. i am sure to try some more since its in front of my building, but i am about ready to give up as far as really liking anything. there is no heart in the food or much effort to please, seems it's just after bar grub. anybody else find something really tasty to like at this truck? thx
