No more meal deals at Vidalia, alas. I think I was the only one buying them at the end. Vidalia started out with an awesome meal deal of a small rotisserie chicken with two sides, usually mac and cheese and mixed veggies for only five bucks. I was getting it twice a week as there is so much you can do with leftover chicken. Then they stopped that and started offering meal deals for 10.99. The chicken was heftier and the mac and cheese was more upscale, but they also had stuff like meatloaf, breaded pork chops, veggie lasagna and (my favorite) chicken scampi over noodles with salad. I can still get most of the components either in their hot foods department, or in the refrigerated prepared foods area but I loved just rushing in and grabbing dinner once or twice a week. Anyone have any prepared food favorites from vidalia (or stuff to avoid) ? I've come to appreciate their small size as I can get in and out fast and not be overwhelmed by aisles and aisles of choices. Plus there are almost always free samples at the bakery.
