Looks like we're heading to McClure's tonight for either eat-in or take-out BBQ (I see they don't serve alcohol). Seem to be well regarded by CH - any thought on best dishes?
Our first trip as 'quasi-residents' has been great so far other than too much time at Home Depot. Ugg.
*Lots of 'making groceries' at Rouses: boilded crawfish, fried chicken and mac n cheese perfectly balanced. Great mid-morning when it is fresh.
*Del Fuego Tacqueria - I liked the Margarita quite a bit (and he gave me a taste of a new "there will be blood cocktail" that was intriguing... the guac was good but small. my salad and my taco were pretty good. Bob complained about tacos falling apart.
*Great FQF music; bread pudding and fish beignets were my favorite bites... and drinks were strong on Friday night!
*Lots of La Boulangerie, what is not to love? That is just an outstanding bakery and the staff very warm and helpful.
*A wonderful date night dinner @ Meauxbar. Will review later.
*Good drinks and 'Cajun Sausage won tons' at Kingfish, tho a bit overpriced, IMO.
*Decent banh mi at Lost Love Lounge's kitchen. Bob did not like his spring rolls, and he likes to be able to eat sitting down (long story).
* Surrey's magazine was slightly disappointing as I do not remember their biscuits quite that doughy on the inside. Eggs were good, love the vibe and will go back when I have more cash in my pocket. Their grits are very very good.
*45 Tchoup. What a great place - cheap drinks and the wonderful Christian (my favorite new bartender in NOLA) will turn on SF Giants game for us crazy transplants.

After McClure's tonight we have Herbsaint, Shaya and Apolline to look forward to and we may sneak in a couple of other tastes in the 'Magazine X Napolean' zone.
Any feedback appreciated. We are so glad to be here.
