Mauviel 1830 M250-B e-plated cast iron handle quality diaster (rubbed off from shipping)

I saw some post about how Mauviel's new cast iron 2 rivets vs 3 rivet handles which are now stainless e-plated have major quality issues/reliability issues with coating rub off. I thought myself there is no way Mauviel, an industry leader/legend in copper cookware would risk the m250 top of their line pots and pans.

To my shock, I ordered a set since you can't really order the old design and when I got it brand new, check out the stainless defect as well as the coating on the handle has ALREADY rubbed off from shipment. That is absolutely diabolical give the price range. If it rubs off from contact with the paper bag it ships in (not a very premium packaging experience for such a premium product), how can I expect this to last?

I cannot believe Mauviel would go down this route, I'm assuming to increase profit margins as the pans are still super expensive.

thoughts?
