Went today for the first time, for lunch, with some co-workers. Blah! The space may be cool and very illuminated, with nice sound level and flow on the restaurant floor, but the food, well, did not impress at all. So, has anyone tried it for dinner, and is it any better??
My (our) experience: 4 appetizers that were very likely ready ahead of time (guacamole, ceviche, shrimp cocktail and tostadas), but took some time to get to the table. The ceviche was pretty good, the others were somewhat well bland. Maybe toned down for MN masses? For lunch entrees, the menu was bleak: some sandwiches, enchiladas, a sea-bass option, a grilled chicken. The se-bass was a little dry, the rice and salsa that came alongside were ok but forgettable. My peers did not rave about the enchiladas either. The side dishes of rice, beans and grilled green onions were good but not great (oops, rice was cold). So, the haute Mexican cuisine looked a lot like everyday Mexican cuisine in a haute-cuisine ambiance, not at all what I expected. Does anyone have a different Masa experience to share?
