Coffee & Tea

A marathon walk for Brunch, tea, and take-away supper in London

We set out from the Primrose Hill section near Regent's Park , grandchild in the pram, to meet friends for tea at Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge. But first we stopped at La Fromagerie (30 HIghbury Park) for a bit of brunch. We shared a farmhouse cheese platter, and a sampling of cured meats (oh, boy!) and soft boiled eggs presented in egg cups, accompanied by "toast soldiers" from Polaine bread. Great cafe latte, too. This is a lovely shop, as well. My son also had the granola with fresh yogurt, which was really more dessert than breakfast.

Fortified, we continued on and met up with our friends for tea. After that we walked over to Marble Arch and Green Valley, the fabled grocery shop with Lebanese pizza, rotisseried chicken, and a hundred other delights, to get take out for supper. We each got a cup of their "milk" flavored ice cream, which is interestingly chewey. Don't know why, but it's sure good. THEN we took a cab home.
