We are visiting our brother on Long Island for Xmas. I, my wife and two daughters (11 and 9). The week after, we will be staying in Manhattan for three days. I'd like some recommendations.
We are going to go to Carnegie Deli for lunch one day; the kids have seen it on Food Network, and insist they have to see the sandwiches. Other than that, we're wide open.
My wife is Chinese, I'm white. The kids like Asian (Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai), and what they call "normal" (i.e. "white") food - chicken, pizza, Italian, BBQ, etc. I don't think they're going to be excited about African, South American, French, Russian, etc.; maybe on the next trip. So, what I'm looking for are reasonably priced ($10/pp lunch, $20 for dinner), kid friendly, interesting places that only you fellow Chowhounds know!
Also, we're going to do tourist stuff (Empire State Building, A&F store, skate at Rockefeller Center, etc.) but any suggestions for other Manhattan excursions are welcomed. I know that's not what this board is for, but you can send them to "firstname.lastname@example.org".
Thanks everyone; I know we're going to have a great time!
