Mango mania in India -- Indian mangoes soon sold in US

Mangoes would make a committed athiest waver in his faith. In my own version of the film Endless Summer, I followed the mango trail from Lamu, a lazy island stuck in its own anachronistic time zone ...Lamu, just north of Zanzibar where the donkeys feast on leftover mango peels... through to Jayapura, an Indonesian enclave perched on the hills of New Guinea within shouting distance of the South Pacific. But I found the finest mangoes months before then, when I arrived in Bombay with mango season in full swing. Today's New York Times has a long article on the manic passion this pre-monsoon mango cornucopia brings to Bombay... plus the welcome news that Indian mangoes will soon be allowed to be sold in the U.S.
