Making pesto with an immersion blender?

nofunlatte | Jul 11, 201306:21 AM     3

Unhappy camper here--my food processor seems to have died in the middle of pesto-making last night (not a surprise, as it has been acting up recently). I froze what I'd made (it's for flavoring mayo, hummus, etc.) But I was wondering if I could use an immersion blender (I have a Bamix) to make pesto? My basil is doing well, but I don't plan to buy another food processor until September (and I'll be on the Cookware board, checking out the FP threads). I recall making pesto in a stand blender when I was in grad school, but it was a bit of a trial, as there was a lot of stop/start motion.

Anyone here successfully made pesto with an immersion blender?
