OK - I'm curious to know what your favorite lunch places are in Stamford, CT - for the collective benefit of all of us blessed or cursed to work here.
I have two favorites:
1. The Carribean place (as I affectionately call it - I never remember to find out the name of the place, but it has Carribean in the name). I've had three different meals there, but of which have been excellent. At the least, it is the best Jamaican to be found in the near vicinity. I recommend the goat curry, jerk chicken and jerk pork. All come with rice and beans and run about $5.
To find the place, just to the Midas on West Main. It is on the same side of Main as Midas, but before you get to the little bridge connecting to Greenwich St. (there is also a chinese restaurant there where I had possibly the worst food of my life...)
2. Casa Villa - formerly Fabi's, a mexican taco joint on West Main, but on a different section than the Carribean place (as a side note, why does Stamford have three different main streets, none of which connect to the others???). You'll find it going up the hill from Greenich street on the left next to a market and laundrymat. If you've gone past the KFC on the right, you've gone too far. Their quality has gone down lately, but they still have excellent tacos - carnitas are the best - for about $2 each.
What other suggestions do you have? Any places that might be previously undiscovered by the masses? Please share!
