The wife and I had a very good lunch at Gotham. The Mrs. had the prix fix which consisted of a aspargus and beet salad (very refreshing) and mahi mahi w/string beans and potatoes(very good). Dessert was a very light chocolate cake w/espresso ice cream. I went a la carte, tuna tatare (fabulous), and salmon (good but not earth shattering). All in all a very good lunch although, the waiter had a plastered smile which disappeared as soon as he turned his back on you.
Fiamma was very good. It's one of my favorites and IMHO has the best pasta in New York. My wife and I shared a pasta special of papardelle in veal jus w/lima beans,peas and morels which were stuffed w/duck mouse. OMG!!! Possibly the best pasta dish I've had. Delicious. The entree's to me became anti-climatic... I had a beautiful branzino w/peppers, leeks, some other stuff. Very good. The Mrs. had red snapper w/chick peas, olives, squid in a tomato based broth. Also very good but that pasta dish. We've had their tagliolini which we thought was wonderful but today's pasta special was amazing. Service was professional and friendly. Tracy does a great job as manager.
