Lucky Star in San Diego Gone Downhill

buddha | Oct 30, 2005 09:38 AM

After reading in Kirk's blog that he waited at Lucky Star for over 15 miuntes before even getting water and tea I felt I should add my poor experience on July 4th of this year.

It was a rather crowded day on this day and dim sum was flying everywhere. The quality was good that day but I wanted some roast duck too.

I ordered a half duck as I ate my dim sum. The duck arrived and was shriveled up and dry and look like it made a few days ago. I tried ONE piece and left it on the plate as it was maybe the worst rendition of roast duck I have ever had in a chinese restaurant.

I called one of the managers over and told him that this duck was no good and was old. He proceeded to tell me that I had eaten half of the duck and that the duck was fine. I told him I wanted a full refund. He wanted to give me half off and we argued heatedly.

He then walked away and came back and in a derogative tone told me he is going to give me a full refund but that if I ever did that again I would not be allowed to come back!

That was it and I lost it! I told him that this duck was horrible and should never be served in a restaurant and that he was being unreasonable. We started screaming at each other which eventually led to him yelling to his staff and everyone in restaurant that I am banned from the restaurant!

Any restaurant that treats their customers like this of which I have been for over 10 years does not deserve my patronage. This manager had an attitude and others have had problems with him. Perhaps the entire operation is in a shambles but one thing is for sure.

I will never eat there again.

Imperial Mandarin on Convoy has replaced it.
