Why is it that tourist places have to serve such rotten food? I recently took my 12 year old son for a special birthday lunch to the revolving restaurant at the CN Tower (his request). I know you pay more for the view and the elevator ride, but does the food have to be so mediocre? We skipped appetizers (saving room for dessert) and our main courses arrived, I am not kidding, about 3 minutes after our server took our order. I had alarm bells going off in my head, with good reason. This was definitely steam table food. My son's prime rib was lukewarm as was my trout. The asparagus was limp and mushy. The server graciously took them back when I complained but the second time round was not much better. They had cooked fresh asparagus, but had obviously warmed up my son's beef in the microwave as it was no longer pink inside. We decided to skip dessert. Even my 12 year old, no gourmand, commented that the food was not worth the price. Next time we'll stick to a local neighbourhood restaurant on Roncesvalles (of which there are plenty) where we can get food that is twice as good at half the price.
