Cantonese food lovers mourn the sudden disappearance of Wong Kee, formerly at 113 Mott Street, which itself was a belated sucessor to the legendary Happy Garden, which also ended its spectacular run without notice. Does anyone know what happened to this estimable restaurant, its ownwer/manager, Albert Lee, or the kitchen staff, most of whom were associated with the Happy Garden for twenty years, and with (do you remember?) Sam Wo on Mott Street before that? Please respond with any intelligence, or memories of this great eating place. Thanks!
