I was just curious about the shelf life of spices. How long can you keep them? Do insects lay eggs in spices? I posted recently on finding an insect crawling around in my cornbread mix and that just makes me want to toss everything in the cabinets. Some of my spices have been in the cabinet at least three years or longer. I wondered if they were still safe or are they a breeding ground for bugs? What about baking powder? Baking soda?
