Hi, I'll have 3 1/2 days in London next month (staying in South Kensington), with my 25-yr old daughter. She's not a foodie but game for whatever I want. Our first day I've already scheduled a show at the Globe, Churchill war rooms and Afternoon tea at Claridge's. Day 2 is wide open, and Day 3 is a side trip to SUA during their food festival.
First question, has anyone been to the Stratford food fest and is it worth making time for, or not to bother? We'll be leaving from Marlyebone in the morning, any suggestions for something nice to bring on the train for breakfast? If we don't stay for the food fest, suggestions for dinner near Marlybone once we get back to London?
Second, my friends are pushing Sketch and while it looks fun, I'm really more about food quality. And we are doing a bunch of Michelins earlier in the trip so not that important. But if it's still considered great....we could just do drinks there on Day 2?
We have time for a full English breakfast before our Churchill event, any suggestions for that either in S Kens or near the site? Hoping to hit the Portabello Road market/Notting Hill area on Day 2, would love some suggestions for there too. Mainly want excellent food, no curries, casual, price not an issue.
Last day we have 3:00 flights so could do morning, is Sunday brunch a thing in London? If so, suggestions?
Thanks in advance, I'm hopeful this board is more active than some of the others I've been trying.
