Dinner at Lola's Monday evening and pretty good. It wasn't very busy and they have a completely new wait staff, our waitress was both very nice and very capable and that's always a treat when it's someone new.
I had the Garlic Soup while Frank had the Garlic Shrimp, but he generously shared about a half dozen of the little boogers. We split the medium paella, which was not enough for the two of us ina hungry frame of mind.
The food was at Lola's usual level of competence.
Since Lola's is our favorite restaurant we brought a bottle of Patriglione (from the Negro Amaro grape) - our favorite wine. Actually, Lola's is where we met on a scavanger hunt blind date - seems like a long time ago now. I only had one glass and a teensy splash of a refill
Since I was still hungry, when we got home, I made a salad and wolfed it down along with a small piece of Manchego (the cheese monster is rationing the house Manchego supply - any withdrawal from our account needs an officer to initial the form), a few slices of salami, and another glass of wine. Frank made do with a glass of wine and a piece of fruitcake (I like fruitcake, but not with a dryish red wine).
