I'm thinking about acquiring a dutch oven. Not sure if I need one as I currently use a clad stock pot for stews, soups, etc and a crockpot for other slow cooking. For some odd reason I think a dutch oven would be better suited for these things. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
At the moment I subjectively prefer the design of Staub however as well a know the price is a bit ridiculous. Enter Lodge. Since its manufactured in China their enamel piece is an unbelievable bargain vs Staub however I wonder about the quality of the enamel coating. I'm thinking the cost difference must be more than just the country of origin.
Is the enamel coating on the Lodge product more prone to chipping? Any long term users out there who can speak to this?
