Liberty Grill

Went to Liberty Grill on Saturday night for a pre-Kings game dinner. While the food was better than what you would find at the game (i.e., hot dogs, panda), it was very, very average (reminded me of a glorified Marie Calendars). I wouldn't go back. Here are the details: Had reservation and were promptly seated. Our server was in training so was being shadowed by another server. Asked about the short ribs and was told that they were "processed" to look like ribs, but there would be no bone. Visions of McRib floated through my mind. Ordered a round of beers and the mac and cheese ball appetizer. Took a while (close to 10 min) for the drinks to come. Mac and cheese balls followed. They were okay simply because they were fried. They are fried balls of what looks like Kraft mac and cheese served with ketchup. But for the fried part, they reminded me of the mac and cheese dinner my Dad used to whip up when my mother had a Junior League meeting. Entrees arrived next. Husband had the chicken fried chicken was he said was way over spiced and dry. I had the teriyaki burger on wheat. Burger wasn't that warm and was really dry. Islands' Hawaiian burger blows Liberty Grill's teriyaki burger away. Another friend had the pulled pork sandwich (a special) and said that it was lukewarm and that the spices totally overpowered the flavor of the meat. The fries were okay, also luke warm. Skipped dessert and headed to the game.
