Las Ruinas/Hot Dog Stand

WildSwede | Dec 10, 200403:22 PM

Driving by old Las Ruinas location today, noticed someone was working in the "hut" so thought I would stop to find out what was going on. I "think" it was Gustavo of Las Ruinas. Asked him what was going on with the space and asked if it is still going to be a hot dog stand. He confirmed what we already knew. I asked if they were planning on doing "good quality" hot dogs (gave example of Vienna Beef) and he said no. I asked if he was opening it up and he said no, that "Steve" the owner was going to run the hot dog stand. He was just working for him. I asked what type of toppings, gourmet, chili, etc. and he said that they were going to have chili and the nacho cheese topping - yum, not. He also informed me that they are currently looking for a space to reopen Las Ruinas, hopefully in the new year (as another hound posted earlier). At that time, I believe "Steve" walked up behind me and (in my wonderfully passive/aggressive way) mentioned that I, along with many, many other people were very sad to see Las Ruinas close and that there will be a lot of people waiting with baited breath to find out about them opening. I told him that he would have to post a note in the window of this hot dog stand regarding where they are going to reopen. I wonder what Steve thought of that. ;-)
