Thanks Mitch for your response to my query. My report will be only somewhat informative, as the restaurant scene does not seem to be hopping in Lake Geneva.
Saturday morning began with a delightful breakfast at our Bed and Breakfast (Maria's Bed & Breakfast, 512 South Wells Street, 1-877-249-0632). We started with a delicious yogurt dish with granola and fruit. She finished us off with French toast that had cream cheese and jam baked in, and bacon on the side. Delish!
Lunch was Temple Garden chinese, which is greasy and not bad. The selection is somewhat limited however...
For dinner we raided the Sentry Supermarket for snacks. We also had some Lake Geneva Mud Ice Cream from Kilwin's for dessert, which was quite tasty.
Breakfast at Maria's was terrific again the next day. We had freshly picked strawberries to start, from some place nearby, along with coffee cake and biscuits with jelly. And then wham---an awesome quiche with asparagus and lowfat mozzerella cheese, sided by smoked sausage. Yum.
Later that day we went to the Annual Garden and Antique sale at Northwind Perrenial farm and had ourselves a Bratwurst on the way out, which wasn't earth shatteringly good, but better that what we have here in Chicago. We washed it down with a satisfying local pop manufactured in Milwaukee, Old Classic, or something like that.
Next time we are there we will try and go to French Country Inn, I hear that they have a decent restaurant. And I will insist that we go to the Brat Stop next time around.
