We had lunch there this past sat and let's just say I was not blown away!!
When we got there around one, the place was almost empty. we were seated by the window, but since it was a cloudy day it didn't matter much. They had the ususal menu and the valentine menu. When the waitress asked us about the drinks,I asked if they had any speciality cocktail and she said the wine list was their specialty!! As I looked at the menu, on the bottom of the menu was the Flirtini and champagne by the glass. As she returned ,I mentioned that to her and she was like oh, I didn't know about that!!When I got my flirtini,boy was it stiff. All you needed was one. for amuse, we were served a savory herb madeline which was ok. I went with frisee salad and the crab cake, and my husband went for the valentine menu. The fisee came with tasty artichokes and the crab cake came with grilled endive. My husband's tasting menu was $36(a good value,but not great as far as the taste) and came with:
Soup- he liked it the best.
Spanish mackerel and tortilla. The fish was ok and the tortilla was nothing special.
Niman ranch beef sirloin with blakberry sauce(good) and some kind of little boring potatoes.
dessert-I don't remember,nothing amazing.
Then he got the coffee and petit four. There was a cofusuion about the coffee. First they brought him a pot of the regular coffee and then our waitress showed up with a pot of french press. The french press tasted much better and the petit four was kind of unsual. They had a couple of very thin cookies and some cranberry and cube sugar and candid almond and orange pills. Overal, the food was fine, the service Ok and the experience forgetable. I guess we have been spoiled with places like bouley. Oh,I got a box of their chocolate and it is a good value, but I found the fillings a little too sweet for me.
