Here's a quick report on dinner at Kuma Inn the other night, since I posted here asking for recommendations.
The dining room is small but very pleasant and peaceful, not noisy or crammed as restaurants this size often are, and very cool music playing (by cool I mean David Bowie, Kraftwerk, etc). We ordered about 6 dishes between the two of us, which was more than enough, and everything was very good. I particularly liked the steak (sliced thin and in an amazing tangy sauce) and the raw tuna, but the grilled octopus was also tasty as was the chinese sausage, garlic rice (yum) and delicate shrimp shumai.Accompanied by a pitcher of saki sangria, it all came to about $80 for two. Highly recommended.
